Just like it’s a good idea to have a health check up on a regular basis, it’s good practice to do a check up for your restaurant or food service business. The Roanoke Regional SBDC has developed this comprehensive checklist that you can use with your business on a yearly, twice yearly, or quarterly basis. The checklist allows you to identify specific areas for improvement…and to note areas where you are doing well.

It includes questions like:

  • Are your receivables current?

  • Are all your licenses and permits up to date?

  • Are portions clearly defined, measured, and controlled?

  • Do employees clearly understand customer service standards?
